You wouldn't happen to be using a digital meter would you? If you
switch a digital meter on the VDC setting it will tend to drift.
Also the human body acts as a capacitor. You have seen those lights
that switch on as you bring your hand near? They work on that
principle. The capacitance of your body is used to as a trigger for the
cicuit.
Or it might be the metal plate in your head :)
