Hi Pete!

The high voltage coil I wound did not do this (capture back emf), but the
EV Gray patent indicates he did recover the dissipated charge to be
reused again...that is precisely how he was able to make it more
efficient, or possibly even to go overunity.

I've heard a lot of claims over the years about using this method and it
makes all kinds of sense...though I don't see how you could make it
actually overunity, just more efficient.

Of course, if the motor has that much less back emf to resist its forward
flow, then it would run with no additional (inductive) heating beyond
friction, so that would improve the motor efficiency somewhat.

I think the secret is a deep dielectric capacitor that would offer the
least possible resistance to any current flow. As in Henry Morays use of
vacuum tubes as capacitors.

There have been discussions of 'negative viscosity' (as in tornados)
which are analogous to 'negative resistors'...the idea being to absorb
energy. A deep dielectric would help make this a reality....Tom Bearden
said there was a fellow named Chron or Kron who had made a negative
resistor that actually produced power. But he had no details on
construction.
