The problem is the user would have to periodically restore the
water...therefore it is not truly self-running, though the idea is
interesting.

The KeelyNet prize was for a self-sustaining circuit/device that required
no outside additions beyond gravity, aether or perhaps tuned to some kind
of space energy as with Bessler/Orffyreus wheel, Moray, Hendershott,
Hubbard, Keely, etc..

Once the machine/circuit was started with something akin to Keely's idea
of the 'introductory impulse', barring fluctuations in the driving force
that would require another impulse to restart it, the machine/circuit
would run until a component failed or something wore out.
