In plain English, an eternally operating machine. A machine that just keeps on going without external influence of any kind." "The painter, graphic artist and sculptor Reidar Finsrud has used 12 years making one of our history's most mythical devices: the Perpetuum Mobile." R.F: "I have spoken to some people saying 'nonsense, all rubbish' and then come down here to visit me. Then, after they have watched it operate for awhile, their attitude changes completely. They leave here happy and content." Interviewer : "In addition to visitors being pleased when watching the machine in the glass mount, some are quite spellbound by this original, unusual work of art." R.F: "I have had people in here talking about religion, I have had people saying 'That's it! Yes of course, that's it! Some who were standing here watching it would go 'yes of course! You have got it right!' And I have had others who just stand there. I have had people standing for over an hour just watching and watching and watching. This is of course very exciting for me, but it makes me a little bit nervous, but..... Then I start thinking: Is he going to try and stop it again using telekinesis or something." Interviewer : "The first few nights he did not get much sleep, but after almost 2 weeks the 'dad' feels the machine is ready to live its own life." R.F: "And now I have stopped watching over it. I don't feel like it is a sick child any more. I feel confident it will keep on going in the future." Update on inventors address: Finsrud (just like his name), just outside OSLO, Norway The steel ball: It's weight is more like 2 pounds. Not 20 Pounds. Placement of the timing slot: The slot with the flexible steel wire is placed just in front of the horse-magnet. The revolution time: 4.2 seconds to circle the track. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
