In a recent conversation with John Bedini, he graciously shared an
experimental configuration of the Hamel Magnetic Spinner which causes it to
run at high speed.
John reported that in early experiments done by he and his brother, they
measured a rotation in excess of 350 rpm. To my knowledge, the velocity of
this new version has not been tested.
This initial experiment used only 3 neodymium magnets with more added as the
velocity increased through the added stability. John also said this version
ran with the ring magnet on a fixed support, with no human interference.
