The Kinetic Disintegrating System (KDS) is designed and manufactured
to efficiently convert a variety of materials from approximately 1-1/2" or
smaller feedstock to ultra fine 200-400 mesh particles at a rate of 4-10 tons
per hour, depending on the material being processed. Applications for the
KDS mill include glass, gypsum, rubber, wood, mineral rock, sludge and
a wide variety of other solid or semi solid materials.

Maintenance: The KDS has been designed to require limited
remedial maintenance; however, should parts become worn after lengthy
operation, replacements are readily available and are often "off the shelf"
acquisitions.
The following preventative maintenance schedule should be followed:

A comprehensive maintenance manual will be supplied at purchase and our
personnel will attend at start-up and provide on-site training to your
staff.
Warranty: The Kinetic Disintegrator is fully warranted for a period
of one year from the date of installation, plus a limited 3 year warranty is
provided against all workmanship. All electrical components are warranted by
the manufacturers*
* Warranty can be affected if the preventative maintenance schedule is not
adhered to.
Operation
- The raw material is dropped into the throat of the mill and passes through
an air-lock gate value that eliminates blow-back and dust .
- The material gravitates to the center of the KDS and is then subjected to
a high frequency sonic wave of great amplitude that is mechanically
induced.
- A greater part of the material is broken down very rapidly within this
area of the mill (the Taurus). The main drive motor is 150 HP.
- The KDS uses air volume and pressure to move all material throughout the
mill and this air is partially recycled. The balance of the make-up air is
introduced from the atmosphere and air-conditioned to assist in dehydration
and cooling the operation. The blower motor is 25 HP.
- Air is injected into the Taurus at a rate of more than 7,000 cubic feet
per minute and lifts the processed material to the classifier.
- The classifier grades the material to the required size and passes
finished material while rejecting oversize particles for re-processing. The
classifier motor is 2 HP.
- Finished material lifts out of the mill into the cyclone where air
pressure decreases and allows the particles to fall out of suspension.
- The air returns to the mill while the finished product falls through
another air lock gate value to be packaged or placed in a bulk
container.
Cost of Operation
- As every installation is different and as power charges can vary from 1.5
cents to 15 cents per kWh, it is difficult to establish a set cost of
operation to cover all locations. It is also noteworthy that through-put
varies with different materials varies and this too will affect operation
costs. We can offer the example of our Bakersfield, CA installation where our
operating costs per ton are $16-18. (Note: this installation has two mills,
automated bagging facilities and a power cost of 13 cents per kWh) You can
calculate your power costs as follows (H.P. H.75 $kWh = cost/hour)
- Note: Costs for material, bags, pallets, shrink wrap, material, etc. are
in excess of this amount.
Shipping:
- All KDSs are delivered F.O.B. Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and
costs of shipping are for the customer's account. The shipment includes: a
KDS, a basic motor control center and the motors described earlier. Any
additional equipment and cost of installation are billed to the customer's
account. A KDS can be supplied within 30 days of order and takes about 3 days
to install providing power etc. is readily available.
