Bedini Device stirs wide interest; Construction details published, Major event seen here.

John Bedini, a California based engineer who's work in the audio field is very widely known, has, according to sources, designed and published full construction details of a device which, witnesses say, operates at over eight hundred percent (800%) efficiency while under constant load.

The device, which appears to operate through principles clearly outside standard electro-magnetics, consists of a battery and motor arrangement onto which a device is added which in effect appears to put back more energy than is drawn from the battery. Keeping it charged no matter how long the motor operates. The circular motion of the motor's shaft appears to be a free byproduct of the process.

News of the device has created a shockwave of interest and comment in both technical and some important non-technical circles apparently less due to the system's high output and comparative reliability than the decision of Mr. Bedini NOT to seek a patent and OPENLY PUBLISH the construction details, allowing others to build the device. The action, which many here are calling unprecedented, has caused a rush to construct models of the device by a wide group ranging from PhD level theorists and engineers to seasoned investigators in the field to what many observers call 'backyard tinkerers.'

The last few days have seen a series of developments concerning the Bedini device, including the device construction manual becoming generally available in the New York area. Meanwhile, a quick survey of those active in the field by ANS has disclosed that at least twenty four of the devices are in various stages of construction around the nation.

What observers say however, is the most important development is the degree of notice gained in non-technical circles such as social and political observer quarters. The importance being attributed to the device's development in these quarters is far in advance of that accorded previous systems.

While being careful to note that the device generally follows patterns of a number of devices reported in recent years, best known among them the Gray, Newman and several German devices, many in the field say that the difference with the Bedini device is that first, numerous sources in the technical community who made immediate, and ultimately accurate, objections to earlier devices are quietly making it known that the Bedini system fully does what it claims.

Second, the determination that it does is the result of accepted testing procedures done by qualified outside observers. In addition, many say that Bedini has bypassed much of what they describe as 'the control mechanism' by NOT seeking to patent the system and OPENLY releasing directions allowing almost anyone to build the device.

Late this week several usually reliable sources began reporting that a group has been formed to market a kit of the device in standard retail stores. The prospect of a free energy device, even in kit form, being available in a Woolworth's type setting has set off a wave of often heavy speculation on the possibility of countermeasures being taken against the system's further development.

Notice of the device which has rapidly spread, also appears to be bolstered by recognition of who the inventor is. The developer, who's firm is based in the Los Angeles suburb of Sylmar, California, in the late seventies and early eighties produced a series of amplifiers which became the toast of much of the state-of-the-art audio market.

The state-of-the-art or 'high end' audio products field has, over the last seven years, become a center of interest for a mix of nonmaterialist physics theorists, some futurists and some of the most advanced parts of the political sensitive community here. This due to the widely held view that some of the effects in high end equipment, often called subtle energy effects, are outside of what was explainable under standard physics.

In addition, it is wildly held that exposure of a listener to certain high end equipment can be observed to have effects in terms of brain and nervous system activity. Many point to what they say is 'hyperwave activity' which they say directly affects several bioenergetic systems.

The hyperwave concept is, generally, that energies are produced in certain equipment, especially tube type equipment, and are being projected to a listener in a nonactualized form. The energies becoming standard vector energies only upon striking a biosystem in which they become actualized.

The Bedini amplifiers used a 'class A' type circuit and during the years of 1980-82 were almost universally considered by audio experts to be one of the five best amplifiers in the world.

The Bedini design quickly became known as solid workable designs with good reliability and lacking many of the design flaws found in amplifiers of the era. Because of the advanced but broadly applicable nature of the firm's earlier products, a rarity in high end audio equipment, news of Bedini becoming involved in such research has apparently caused many observers to treat news of his involvement with a seriousness not often accorded to others claiming to produce over-efficiency.
